MeetInBetween.us is a super cool free service that allows you to find a convenient meeting point between 2 locations. The interface is very intuitive and straight forward, using Google Maps as the graphical / mapping under-brain.
MeetInBetween.us starts by asking you for your address, then asking for a second address. After the second address is entered, it plots both points on a map and plots the mid-point between two locations on the map. If the mid-point location seems inconvenient, or not to your liking, MeetInBetween.us can further help in determining a good place to meet. This is where the site’s true colors shine!
You can choose from various categories including: Food, Coffee Shop, Golf Course, Bar, Hotel, Library, Mall, Theater, Apple Store, and Other. “Other” can be any basic search item such as “Convenience Store” or even “Parking Lot”. Once you choose the category, it plots all of the potential spots on the map and allows you to choose the item/location of choice, “Let’s Meet Here”.
From there it provides a unique page for your Meet-up situation. This unique page provides the link to share the map with the other party. It also provides “Printable Driving Direction” links to the midpoint destination coming from BOTH locations!
I find this is extremely useful for dealing with local people from Craigslist since I do not ship items to Craigslist buyers (My experience with Craigslist Scams). To make things fair, I usually like to meet people at a safe, busy, public destination that is at a mid-point between both of us. MeetInBetween.us has definitely helped ease that issue of determining a good location!
